Acquisitions Department

The Acquisitions Department has primary responsibility for cultivating relationships with developers, acquiring projects for investment, and underwriting and performing due diligence. Additionally, the department provides a wide range of technical assistance aimed at helping developers plan and structure their projects. Members of the department take an active role in affordable housing organizations in the states they are responsible for.

Charles R. Newcomer - Vice President of the Acquisitions Department Charles R. Newcomer is Vice President of the Acquisitions Department. He has been involved in affordable housing and tax credit developments since 1991. Prior to joining CAHEC in 1998, Mr. Newcomer served as Vice President and Project Manager of DHIC in Raleigh, NC, where he oversaw the development of a number of tax credit properties. Mr. Newcomer received a BA in geography and MS in city planning from Florida State University and an MS in real estate development and investment from New York University.
