Fund Analyst


Fund Analyst

The Fund Analyst is a member of the Fund Management Department. The department is responsible for analyzing and modeling new fund offerings to assist in competitively raising capital, co-preparing the fund strategic buying plan, establishing new fund offerings, providing all fund accounting and cash management of existing tax credit equity funds, managing fund line of credit facility, and providing investor tax returns, audits and other investor reports. The department assists the CEO in fund raising and administrative support. To accomplish these tasks the department will be responsible for coordinating efforts with other departments in the company.

The job consists of three components that drive future investor subscriptions: (i) formulate models that forecast investor rate of returns, (ii) manage fund cash positions, and (iii) prepare accounting and other investment reports. The Fund Analyst interprets, examines, and programs all fund models from current real-time data, validates Webster data, plans and approves weekly fund cash requirements, manages investor capital call schedule to maximize investor return, implements and enforces policies for equity disbursements and asset management fees, prepares eighteen-year projections for investors, reports cash activity and fund balances to other departments, approves Web application inputs by asset management staff, approves fund projections, documents and provides audit work papers, approves draft fund audits and tax returns, and prepares and delivers investor quarterly reports.

Specific duties include

  • Updating fund models for project changes and capital calls.
  • Analyzing variances within fund projections; validating and authorizing changes to fund models.
  • Evaluating cash of active funds to determine upcoming capital call needs; reporting weekly cash available to other departments.
  • Managing fund working capital over fund life to ensure availability of money for fixed cost and risk management.
  • Updating all Excel models for sources and uses transactions, recasting projections, issuing fee invoices.
  • Managing and processing all fund accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Working with third-party auditors to produce GAAP financials twice yearly, preparing audit work papers.
  • Approving fund tax returns and reconciling to models and database.

Minimum Education Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with concentration in accounting preferred.

Minimum Experience: Two years in accounting; expertise with data integrity, modeling, and forecasting.

Computer skills: Ability to program Excel models and provide forecasts over a long term.
