Supportive Services Coordinator Initiatives
The goal of the Supportive Services Coordinator Initiative is to increase resident access to services and programs. The initiative offers grants to CAHEC developer partners to place part-time Supportive Services Coordinators (SSCs) at CAHEC sites. Each grant will fund an SSC at a cost of up to $10 per hour for 40 hours per month. The owner of the site agrees to recruit, employ, and supervise the SSC; and CAHEC will train, monitor, support, and fund this position.
The SSC's primary responsibilities are to administer CAHEC's Community Programs, provide feedback to CAHEC regarding the programs, and represent the site's supportive services at compliance reviews. Additional duties can include a number of supportive service roles outlined in the job description.
Depending on how much time is required to administer our Community Programs, owners have the discretion of assigning additional duties. Owners could also choose to increase the SSC's hours at their own expense. At larger sites, 40 hours a month would be substantial enough to administer our Community Programs, while at the smaller sites it would allow time for additional supportive service activities.
Finally, the Supportive Services Coordinator Initiative is a compelling way to get our Community Programs into the hands of more of our residents and allow interested investors an opportunity to become more directly involved.
