Youth Recognition Program
The Youth Recognition Program promotes improved academic performance, good school attendance, and appropriate behavior for students in grades 3-12. Students who successfully complete the program earn an expense-paid trip with participants from other sites at the end of the school year. CAHEC also sponsors a Dollars for A's incentive where all 6th-12th graders receive a $50 savings bond for each A on their final report card.
Each year CAHEC expects nearly 100 young residents to successfully complete the program. Students completing the program requirements have visited such destinations as Disneyworld; Busch Gardens; Myrtle Beach; Carowinds; Williamsburg, VA; and Atlanta, GA. Since the inaugural year (2006-2007) of the Dollars for A's program, CAHEC has contributed more than $3,000 per year in savings bonds to youth residents.
